Park BBQs

Currently, BBQs are not allowed at Tempelhofer Feld. It's worth a visit anyway - a few food stands are waiting for you. Tempelhofer Feld or "on Tempelhof" for short like many Berliners say, normally has the luxury of having three designated BBQ area. They are located near the entrances on Oderstraße, Columbiadamm and Tempelhofer Damm.

A „little gem“ for all BBQ fans is Mitte's Monbijoupark. It's an extremely well taken-care-of park planted with tulips and several areas for playing sports, for example a Basketball court or tables for playing ping pong. Do you need anything more to not be bored during your BBQ?

Stadtpark Lichtenberg, despite being so close to the hip parts of Friedrichshain, is a wonderful tranquil oasis for Berliners.

Guys with dreadlocks who rather grill tofu than a real sausage, people playing the drums, large Turkish families and universtiy students - the BBQ crowd at Görlitzer Park is more than only a little diverse.

Normally, BBQs are allowed on Kleiner Bunkerberg in Volkspark Friedrichshain. Currently though it is mandatory to book your BBQ slot online via http://neuer-hain.de.

Centrally located, popular but fairly grubby - that's Mauerpark. It's open season for BBQs there all over, except for a little grove of birches and next to the playground.

Located between Club der Visionäre, Badeschiff and Arena Treptow, you will find the BBQ area Schlesischer Busch - ideal location for a pre-party weekend BBQ.

A bit off the beaten track but with the greenest grass in all of Berlin - that's the BBQ area of Berlin-Lichtenberg.

The BBQ area „An der Landmarke“ may be close to the city limits with Brandenburg, but scores with a gorgeous green, a really nice playground and lots of tranquility.

Just like Tempelhofer Feld, the Landschaftspark Johannistal started its existence as an airfield. It was here that motorised aviation in Germany made its first leaps in 1909.
