The 10 best ice rinks in Berlin 2026
As soon as the first frost settles over the city, Berlin's ice rinks open their gates in the winter of 2026 and invite you out for a few crisp laps. Right in the middle of the action, the ice rink at the Center am Potsdamer Platz in Tiergarten sends skaters gliding beneath the high-rises, while the Eisbahn Winterwelt Grünau sits surrounded by greenery. If you prefer something more sporty, the Horst Dohm Eisstadion in Grunewald offers one of the largest open-air surfaces in the city. From the sprawling EISSTRAND in Friedrichshagen to the covered Eissporthalle Charlottenburg, there is something for beginners, families and ambitious skaters alike. Warm cups of cocoa at the edge are as much a part of it as the scratch of blades on clear ice. On which rink would you most like to take your first laps?

For this list I laced up my skates and ventured from Grünau to Charlottenburg across the city's loveliest rinks. I was especially taken with the EISSTRAND in Friedrichshagen, where the ice and the lido create an atmosphere all their own. I'll show you where the joy on blades is greatest.
