As a mom in Berlin, I know the drill: On the weekend, you want to get out of the city, let the kids run around, and have everyone back home relaxed by evening. The best places to visit in Brandenburg are often just an hour’s drive away: great zoos, (museum) villages, and interactive farms. For this list, I’ve compiled the best destinations in Brandenburg that I’ve personally tested with my family: easily accessible, kid-friendly, and suitable for various age groups. I hope you have many wonderful family moments in the Berlin area!

The Beelitz-Heilstätten Barefoot Park in Beelitz is Brandenburg's largest nature adventure park, sending families barefoot through deciduous forests, mud pools, and over 60 sensory stations. A destination that amazes children and adults alike.

Windmill, slide tower, and mini-golf on Germany's longest course: The Holland Park in Schwanebeck, directly on the Berlin city limits, is one of Brandenburg's most diverse excursion destinations for families with children. Whether it's a rainy day or summer sunshine, there's enough to discover for all ages.

If you want to experience a real safari adventure with children, Nedlitz near Gommern offers one of the most charming excursion destinations in the region: Straußenland Nedlitz. On five hectares of pasture, the world's largest birds live here and can be petted, fed, and admired.

In the blossom city of Werder in Havelland, the Werderaner Tannenhof awaits with a huge fir tree plantation, alpacas, and plenty of activities for the whole family. It is one of the most beautiful excursion destinations in Brandenburg, attracting visitors all year round with seasonal activities.

Red strawberries, wild roller coaster, and tractor ride in the heart of Brandenburg: Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Elstal near Wustermark is one of the most popular excursion destinations for families in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, turning a simple farm visit into an entire day of adventure.

In the Baruth glacial valley, between Spreewald and Fläming, lies arguably Germany's most beautiful glassblowing village. The Baruther Glashütte Museum Village in the Teltow-Fläming district combines over 300 years of craft history with genuine hands-on experiences for the whole family.

In Münchehofe, Brandenburg, within the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park, an organic dairy helps children understand where milk, butter, and cheese really come from. Transparency is taken literally here: through glass walls, the whole family can look directly into the ongoing production.

The Spreewelten Bad in Lübbenau is probably the wildest excursion destination in Brandenburg: Here you swim next to real Humboldt penguins, rush down giant slides, and literally dive into the Spreewald. If you're looking for family fun that goes beyond the classic swimming pool, you should stop by.

Animal park, dinosaur park, and amusement park all in one: The Eicholz Animal and Leisure Park Germendorf in the Germendorf district of Oranienburg is one of Brandenburg's most diverse excursion destinations. Here, alpacas graze alongside life-sized dinosaur models, while rides and bathing beaches await children.

Southwest of Potsdam, nestled between asparagus fields, pine forests, and blueberry plantations, lies one of Brandenburg's most popular excursion farms. The Klaistow Asparagus and Adventure Farm in Beelitz combines authentic rural life with a program that keeps children entertained all day long.
