As a mum in Berlin, I know it well: at the weekend you want to get out of the city, the children should let off steam and everyone should be relaxed at home in the evening. For this list, I put together the loveliest excursion destinations in Brandenburg that I have tested with my own family, easy to reach and suitable for every age. Brandenburg's largest nature adventure park awaits just under 30 kilometers southwest of Berlin in Beelitz-Heilstätten: On 15 hectares of forest, young and old walk barefoot through mud, over pine cones and cold water. Here, families can experience pure nature, entirely without shoes.
Windmill, slide tower, and Germany's longest mini-golf course: The Holland Park in Schwanebeck, directly on the Berlin city limits, is one of Brandenburg's most versatile leisure destinations for families with children — weather-independent, with free admission and enough program for a whole day.
Anyone who wants to experience a real safari adventure with children will find one of the region's most charming destinations in Nedlitz near Gommern: Straußenland Nedlitz. On five hectares of pasture, the world's largest birds live here and can be petted, fed, and admired.
The Werderaner Tannenhof in Werder (Havel) is an adventure farm on a 60-hectare fir tree plantation, attracting families from Berlin and Brandenburg year-round with animals, sports, and seasonal events in the forest.
