Berlin is wonderful to discover by bike, because around 1,000 kilometres of cycle path run criss-cross through the city. There is something for every taste, whether a swimming trip, a history lesson or a nature experience. The tour to the Wannsee combines cycling with a jump into the water, the Berlin Wall Trail through Pankow makes history come alive, and the Havel cycle path leads through the Grunewald all the way to the Grunewaldturm with a view as far as Potsdam. If you prefer something quieter, you can follow the Wuhle in Treptow-Koepenick to the Mueggelsee or explore the history-steeped old town of Spandau. Ten routes between city, forest and water. Which route appeals to you most for your next free day?

For me, summer begins the moment I bring my bike up from the cellar. While researching these tours, I rediscovered corners of Berlin that I visit far too rarely. The ride to the Wannsee followed by a swim is my personal favourite. I am taking you along ten routes that show just how green and vast this city really is.
