Because Lichtenberg has banned grilling in all green areas, the bookable BBQ area of the Hafenküche in the Citymarina at Rummelsburger Bucht remains the only option for the district. The rental includes a sunsail, a table for twelve people, a BBQ fireplace with charcoal and electricity, and a maximum of 17 guests are allowed. Grilling in the park becomes grilling directly by the water here.

In Lichtenberg, a general grilling ban has been in effect in all parks and green areas since 2022, and the district explicitly adheres to it. Nevertheless, legal grilling is still possible here, but only by reservation: The Hafenküche BBQ area is located on the premises of Hafen und Hof in the Citymarina at Rummelsburger Bucht, directly by the water. Instead of park lawns, there are jetties; instead of searching for a spot, there is a reserved area. Bookings are made online and in advance, after which the spot belongs exclusively to your group for the booked period. For anyone who wants to grill with ten or twelve people, this is the most relaxed option in the city.

What’s included in the booking and what to bring yourself

The BBQ area includes a sunsail, a table for twelve people, a BBQ fireplace including charcoal, a side table, BBQ tongs, two power outlets, and shared use of the trampoline. No more than 17 people are allowed, children are counted. Food and drinks can be brought by yourself or purchased next door at the Hafenküche and in the beer garden, which significantly shortens transport. Empty bottles and brought packaging must be taken away again; a small waste bin is available for the rest. During the rental period, three sanitary units of the marina are open. The Gustav-Holzmann-Straße tram stop is about a six-minute walk away, and a parking space can be booked additionally.
