Barbecue spot at Tempelhofer Feld Oderstraße

The easternmost of the three barbecue areas on Tempelhofer Feld is located in Neukölln, near the Oderstraße entrance, approximately two kilometers from the area at Tempelhofer Damm. Your own grill with a minimum foot height of 25 centimeters is mandatory; gas grills are forbidden on the entire field. For barbecuing in the park, this is the shortest route from the Schillerkiez.

Tempelhofer Feld Barbecue Area Oderstraße: The Neukölln Access

Tempelhofer Feld has three designated barbecue areas, and this is the eastern one: It is located in the Neukölln area near the Oderstraße entrance, a good two kilometers from the area at Tempelhofer Damm. Those coming from Schillerkiez, Reuterkiez, or Hermannplatz thus save themselves the long walk across the field. In midsummer, it is the most frequently used of the three areas, so an early start is worthwhile on weekends. The Oderstraße section was redeveloped between 2022 and 2024, and the Herrfurthstraße and Crashgate entrances have since been barrier-free and wider.

The Barbecue Rules Apply to the Entire Field

Barbecuing is done with your own equipment; there are no fixed barbecue stations. A minimum foot height of 25 centimeters is required to protect the turf underneath. Disposable grills without feet and open fires on the ground are prohibited, as are gas grills on the entire premises. Branches, twigs, and wood scraps are not suitable as fuel. Pegs may not be driven into the ground; pavilions are instead weighted down with water canisters. Metal ash containers are available for hot coals, and separate containers for other waste. There are no costs, no one needs to register, and in periods of prolonged dryness, barbecuing may be temporarily prohibited.
