A good playground, to me, is the one where children run off on their own and the grown-ups can still relax. For this list I looked at what actually carries an afternoon: equipment that still challenges school-age children, a separate corner for toddlers, shade in the afternoon, clean sand, and benches with a view of everything. What came out of it are ten places across the city that are worth the trip.
Where Little Red Riding Hood meets Rapunzel and Hansel and Gretel look out from the climbing frame: The Fairy Tale Playground in Schulenburgpark in Neukölln is Berlin's most magical adventure playground, designed around the world of the Brothers Grimm. Imagination and the urge to move are brought together here on a generous area.
Hidden in the middle of Bäkepark in Steglitz is one of Berlin's most beautiful playgrounds: around 3,000 square meters of Africa and adventure, right by the Teltow Canal. Wooden giraffes, zebras, and palm trees create a jungle atmosphere, while climbing towers, zip lines, and hammocks do the rest.

Hidden in the Brussels neighborhood of Wedding is one of Berlin's most versatile green spaces with a playground that appeals equally to children of various age groups: water play, climbing courses, and hammocks on a sunbathing lawn make Zeppelinplatz a true neighborhood meeting point.
