East Side Gallery

Friedrichhain's East Side Gallery is with its 1.361 metres the longest open air gallery in the world and at the same time the longest piece of the Berlin Wall still standing!

When the Wall came down more than 100 artists have immortalized themselves here. Some of the most well-known paintings are the Fraternal Kiss (original title “My God, Help me to Survive This Deadly Love”) and the Trabant car breaking through the Wall (original title “Test the best”).

Currently a society of artists takes care of the not quite undisputed rehabilitation measure of the gallery and offers on top of that tours and artists’ talk. Visiting the East Side Gallery is free of charge!
