Climbing up to the historic flak tower in Volkspark Humboldthain is a bit tiring but once you’ve reached its top, it’s totally worth it. To catch your breath, the first tower plateau offers some tables and chairs.

An even better place for a longer break is the nice rosarium in the heart of the park, you can spot it when standing on top of the flak tower. Berliners lounge on benches, enjoy the sun, read a book or play with their kids there. Even more space for running wild for families with children or dog owners offer the relaxing greens in the park.

If you are more into sports than relaxing, you can jog at Humboldthain or climb the large and small bunker hill. The park offers several playgrounds for children and in winter there is a sledding hill with the so called Humboldthöhe. The park offers also a public swimming pool in summer for freshening up.
