It features Ludwig Hoffmann's Fairy Tale Fountain, the two rubble hills Mont Klamott, and one of the city's few official barbecue areas. Among Berlin's parks, it offers the densest mix of history and everyday life.
Between the banks of the Spree and the Soviet Memorial in Alt-Treptow lies one of Berlin's largest parks. Gustav Meyer designed the 88-hectare park starting in 1876. Today, it hosts Germany's largest Soviet war cemetery, the Archenhold Observatory, and the Zenner guesthouse from 1822. World history and sunbathing lawns on the same stroll.

The Großer Tiergarten spans 207 hectares between the Brandenburg Gate and the Zoological Garden, making it Berlin's largest park. Peter Joseph Lenné transformed the old electoral hunting ground into a landscape park starting in 1818; today, the Victory Column, English Garden, New Lake, and Bellevue Palace are located within it. No other park in Berlin covers so much at once.

Spanning approximately 70 hectares in Wedding, this is one of Berlin's largest and least crowded public parks. The garden monument from 1929 includes a deer enclosure with fallow deer, three small lakes, and an open-air stage with 4,000 seats, which hosts an open-air cinema in summer. Among Berlin's parks, this is the most relaxed large-scale area.
In Gesundbrunnen, one of Berlin's most historically rich parks stretches across 29 hectares. Gustav Meyer started designing Volkspark Humboldthain in 1869. Today, it includes a rose garden with 15,000 roses of 70 varieties and the ruins of a flak tower, above which rises the 85-meter-high Humboldthöhe. This scope is quite unique for parks in Berlin.
Behind the baroque Charlottenburg Palace lies one of Berlin's oldest garden complexes, laid out for Sophie Charlotte from 1695 and opened in 1699. Siméon Godeau designed the parterre in the French style, and Lenné later transformed it into a landscape garden with a carp pond, mausoleum, and Luiseninsel (Luise Island). Among Berlin's parks, this is the most formal.
Viktoriapark in Kreuzberg spans 12.8 hectares around the Kreuzberg hill, which, at 66 meters, is Berlin's highest inner-city elevation. At the top stands Schinkel's cast-iron National Monument from 1821, and on the north side, a 24-meter-high waterfall plunges down the slope at 13,000 liters per minute. No other park in Berlin has such a significant difference in elevation.
On the disused Tempelhof Airport, 303 hectares of open space have been open as a park since 2010. Two two-kilometer-long runways, a six-kilometer circular path, community gardens, and a bird sanctuary for the skylark share the area. Among Berlin's parks, Tempelhofer Feld is the largest and the flattest.

Behind the Jahn Sport Park, there are still around 300 meters of the inner wall, officially approved for graffiti, plus the Sunday flea market and the Bearpit Karaoke in the amphitheater. Among Berlin's parks, this is the loudest and most vibrant.
Görlitzer Park, known to all as Görli, covers 14 hectares of former railway land in Kreuzberg SO 36. A children's farm, pirate playground, sledding hill, and the free sports program SpOrt365 share the area with the fence that the city has been disputing for years. No other park in Berlin is as much a living space and a subject of discussion at the same time.
