Kienbergpark was created in the course of an international garden exhibition in 2017 and has been open to the public since March 2018. A 1.5 km long cable car connects the Kienbergpark in Berlin-Hellersdorf with the Gardens of the World in Berlin-Marzahn. The name of the parc is derived from the Kienberg, a 110-metre high elevation. From up here, the natural bobsleigh run invites you to a rapid descent, a great fun for the whole family.

At the top of the Kienberg is also the “Wolkenhain” (cloud grove), a 30-metre-high observation platform modelled on a cloud and resting on slender steel supports. Those who take the trouble to climb the stairs will be rewarded by the view not only over the Kienbergpark, but with a good view to the city centre of Berlin. If you prefer to avoid the stairs, you can take the lift. At the foot of the cloud there is a nice little café where you can warm up or refresh yourself depending on the season.

The Kienbergpark recreational area is pedagogically supplemented by an environmental education centre as a green learning location in Berlin. The Environmental Education Centre was also established at the garden exhibition and will be continued. Around 600 events a year are to be offered for schools and day care centres on regular school days. In addition, events are held on weekends and during school holidays to give children and young people the opportunity to observe nature, experiment and participate in gardening.

Kienbergpark is easily accessible by public transport via the U5 underground line and the newly designed Kienberg – Gärten der Welt underground station.
