Every year, the Britzer Garten in Neukölln ushers in the Easter holidays with one of Berlin's most beautiful Easter bonfires. At Rodelberg, fire acrobatics, live music, and a family atmosphere combine to create an atmospheric start to the season in the green.

Hofcafé Berlin and Feine Kost bei Mutter Fourage is located on a over one hundred year old farm in Wannsee, between a nursery, florist, and gallery. Breakfast is served outdoors in the courtyard or in the heated Winterpalais. The menu ranges from a croissant for 4.50 Euros to a large salmon platter. For breakfast in the countryside, this is the most rural address in the city.

In Dahlem, not far from the Botanical Garden, the Königliche Gartenakademie (Royal Garden Academy) is much more than just a plant shop: Here, historic greenhouses meet an English garden school where hobby gardeners and professionals alike can develop their plant knowledge and design sense.

The Zenner Beer and Wine Garden in Alt-Treptow is one of Berlin's oldest and largest beer gardens, located directly on the Spree River in Treptower Park. Classic beer garden culture meets a contemporary drink and food menu here, with views of the Island of Youth.

Biesdorf Palace Park belongs to Biesdorf Palace, a late-classical tower villa from 1867, and was laid out as a landscape park from 1868. Across approximately ten hectares, large meadows alternate with dense tree groups, including the oldest continuous tree population in Marzahn. The park is a garden monument; grilling is not permitted here.

More than just vegetables grow in the Botanical People's Park Blankenfelde-Pankow: The farm gardens in Volkspark Pankow combine community gardening with ecological learning on a historic garden site from 1909. Those who lease a plot here get sustainable cultivation, fresh harvest, and a piece of green deceleration in Berlin's northeast.

Blumen- und Gartenkunst on Alt-Moabit puts plants, bouquets and art objects out onto the pavement and sorts the flowers inside by colour. The range is put together afresh each morning. Andreas Tunger and Thomas Tunger-Schnur have run the house for almost thirty years and join floristry to garden design, from a planted courtyard to a roof garden.

The Kienbergpark, named after the Kienberg hill in Berlin-Hellersdorf, is a 60 hectare park with a 1.5 km long cable car.

Humboldthain People's Park in Gesundbrunnen was laid out from 1869 onwards to mark Alexander von Humboldt's hundredth birthday, designed by garden director Gustav Meyer. It covers 29 hectares and includes a rose garden with thousands of bushes, a rubble hill with a viewing platform, a lido and a vineyard. Grilling is not permitted here.

Der Blumenstand grows its own flowers: around 150 varieties on 6,000 square meters, organically grown in Brandenburg, plus about a hundred varieties of potted, balcony, and garden plants and herbs. Sales are made at three locations in Kreuzberg: in its own shop in Chamissokiez, in Markthalle Neun, and at the Ökomarkt (eco-market) on Chamissoplatz.

In Potsdam-Bornim, not far from Sanssouci Palace, lies the cradle of the modern perennial garden: Foerster Stauden combines over 115 years of breeding history with an unparalleled assortment. Anyone looking to buy hardy perennials, grasses, and ferns directly from the producer won't find a closer source anywhere else in Germany.

The Rudolph-Wilde-Park lies in a depression in Schöneberg and is so strictly protected as a garden monument that not even fitness equipment may be installed there. Its landmark is August Gaul's Golden Stag, joined by a pond, a large lawn and a subway station in the middle of the park with a rooftop terrace. Grilling is not allowed.

The Grand Orangery is located in the west wing of Charlottenburg Palace, directly by the baroque garden. High windows, chandeliers, parquet flooring - originally, the citrus trees of the Prussian kings overwintered here; today, string quartets perform in the two halls. For a marriage proposal, this means: you arrive as a concert guest and leave as a fiancée.

Plänterwald is a forest on the banks of the river Spree in Berlin-Treptow and home to the former amusement park Spreepark.

The special Christmas party "Christmas Dine & Dance" at Restaurant ALvis combines two elements: the "Winter Wonderland" Christmas buffet in the restaurant and the subsequent celebration on the party boat!

Körnerpark lies five to seven meters below the level of the surrounding Neukölln residential streets, because a gravel pit was here until 1912. High arcaded walls and monumental staircases enclose the strictly axial layout, with an orangery at one end and a cascade at the other. The café offers ready-made picnic baskets, grilling is not allowed.

Between the banks of the Spree and the Soviet Memorial in Alt-Treptow lies one of Berlin's largest parks. Gustav Meyer designed the 88-hectare park starting in 1876. Today, it hosts Germany's largest Soviet war cemetery, the Archenhold Observatory, and the Zenner guesthouse from 1822. World history and sunbathing lawns on the same stroll.

Heideglühen is not a clubhouse, but an area at Westhafen with an open space, a covered wooden floor under a glass roof, and fire pits. Primarily house music is played, admission is from 21 years old, and the club deliberately announces its line-ups quietly. Among the techno clubs in Berlin, this is the one that only provides its address as a coordinate.

The Gründerzeit villa Am Sandwerder is situated above the Großer Wannsee, with its garden extending to a private jetty. Up to 86 guests can celebrate in the house, and 34 can stay overnight in the 17 rooms, with double rooms starting from 88 Euros. For a romantic wedding in Berlin, this means: a ceremony on the shore, and no one has to travel across the city at night.

Children love strawberries and picking them themselves is even more fun, preferably outdoors, e.g. in Berlin's berry gardens, Berliner Beerengärten.

A few minutes by ferry, and Berlin is gone. Peacock Island in the Havel is car-free, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and can only be reached by boat. Peacocks roam freely among 400 ancient oaks, and in their midst stands a white pleasure palace from 1794. For a marriage proposal, this is a rare case of a backdrop you don't have to book.

Hidden on Lohmühleninsel at Schleusenufer, the ŒLGARTEN combines a beer garden under old trees with a marble bar and club area, from after-work drinks until deep into the night.

Between the two Brandenburg nature reserves Rabenstein and Planetal lies the Nature Park Centre Hoher Fläming in the Old Distillery in Raben.

Freizeitpark Lübars is a recreation park in the Northern district Berlin-Reinickendorf and a famous destination for a nature trip in the city of Berlin.

The Restaurant & Beer Garden Schoenbrunn is located in Volkspark Friedrichshain directly by the Swan Pond, and its sun terrace seats about one hundred guests. The pavilion originated from a competition for the X. World Festival in 1973 and initially housed a small library. For breakfast in the green surroundings, pancakes and Avocado Benedict are served here under old trees.
