Cruising along in the Rummelsburg Bay with a pedal boat or rowing along, rent a grilling-boat or jog past the Soviet War Memorial - this park of 90 hectares in Eastern Berlin offers a number of distractions.
Restaurant Zenner in Treptower Park enjoyed cult status in East Germany. Nowadays, Zenner Eierschale and the neighbouring burger joint are a point of call on hot days to enjoy something cool to drink. Weekends sometimes see the crowd there dancing foxtrott to all-time party favourites.
Another particularity of the park is the ”Insel der Jugend” (“Island of Youth”), which can be reached crossing a small pedestrian bridge.
Also the Grillboot, which can be rented here with favourable weather conditions for up to 10 people is fairly unique in the inner city. The Archenhold Observatory is part of the park, with the world’s longest refracting telescope!
