Deep in Grunewald, in the Dahlem district, the Châlet Suisse is hidden behind old pines and deciduous trees. This rustic wooden house combines Swiss mountain romance with Berlin forest air, and anyone who has once taken a seat by the crackling fireplace knows why this restaurant has been attracting regulars for decades.

Since 1994, Brauhaus Spandau has been brewing its unfiltered Havelbräu in the historic brick building on Kolk, complemented by a rotating special beer each month. The copper brewing kettles are openly displayed in the guest area, and outdoors, 400 seats are spread across four beer gardens with access to the Havel river. Among Berlin's breweries, this is the location with the largest open-air space.

Hardly any brewpub in Berlin is as central: Hopfingerbräu is located in the Palais am Pariser Platz, less than a hundred meters from the Brandenburg Gate. On tap is the Hopfinger Organic Naturtrüb, top-fermented, unfiltered, and brewed according to their own organic recipe. Right on the Great Wannsee and at the edge of the Grunewald forest: The Wannseeterrassen in Zehlendorf is one of Berlin's most famous excursion restaurants, with lake views, a spacious terrace, and cuisine blending German and French traditions.

Weihenstephaner Lichterfelde is located directly at Lichterfelde West S-Bahn station and is primarily a beer garden operation: gravel floor, old trees, around 190 self-service seats and 140 in the serviced area, plus 110 indoor seats. Only Weihenstephan beer is served, and the establishment has explicitly lifted the Weißwurst rule.

The Zenner Beer and Wine Garden in Alt-Treptow is one of Berlin's oldest and largest beer gardens, located directly on the Spree River in Treptower Park. Classic beer garden culture meets a contemporary drink and food menu here, with views of the Island of Youth.

At the newly opened Kant-Garagenpalast on Kantstraße in Charlottenburg, Dufte Berlin shows the World Cup games on a 4 x 2.5 meter LED wall in its 300 square meter beer garden. Four kitchens, a BBQ stand, and eight different beers on tap cater to your physical well-being.

Jäger & Lustig is a restaurant at the eastern end of Grünberger Straße, where Friedrichshain meets Warschauer Straße: inside, a beer parlor with historic leaded windows, outside, a natural beer garden under chestnut trees. Hopfingerbräu at Brandenburg Gate is located in the Palais am Pariser Platz between the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, with a terrace overlooking both landmarks and a shady courtyard beer garden for around 70 guests. Its own organic house beer is served, and the signature dish is the currywurst made from original Berlin Stumpen without casing.

Despite its name, the largest concert club on this list sits in Alt - Treptow, on the Arena grounds by the Flutgraben canal. Six areas from ninety to eleven hundred places run from the main hall with eight metres of ceiling height to the fireplace room and the beer garden with its BBQ smoker. All entrances are barrier free.

Brauhaus Südstern is history; since May 2026, SUUUD Brewery has been located on Hasenheide. Brewing continues on-site: six house-brewed varieties, from Pilsner with Saaz hops to Session IPA, half-liter starting from 5.50 Euros. The beer garden overlooks Volkspark Hasenheide, with live music and comedy on stage. No other brewery in Berlin is this young.

Weihenstephaner Berlin is located opposite Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station in the oldest house in the Mitte district, built in 1749, featuring a vaulted cellar from the same year for 180 people and a courtyard garden for up to 250 guests. Only Weihenstephan beer is served, and the menu is alpine-themed, focusing on Bavaria, Tyrol, and South Tyrol.

The Dieselhaus is located at the Forum on Museum Island: a modern brewery built around a listed diesel engine, combining Bavarian beer culture with Berlin lightness. Freshly tapped Hofbräuhaus Traunstein beer, hearty cuisine, and space for almost 400 guests make it one of the most atmospheric public viewing locations for the 2026 World Cup.

The Hofbräu Wirtshaus Berlin at Alexanderplatz, with 6,500 square meters of guest area, calls itself the largest inn in Europe and is located in a former GDR canteen building. Original Hofbräu from Munich is served in a liter mug, the house specialty is the Brizza, a Bavarian pizza on pretzel dough. A show band plays live.

In the listed boiler house of the Old Königstadt Brewery, automotive and motorcycle memorabilia hang alongside antiques. Celtic punk, rock, blues, and rockabilly play on the twenty-two square meter stage, while outside there's a beer garden and a heated royal tent. For bookers, it's also known as Roadrunners Rock & Motor Club.

The Zollpackhof beer garden in Berlin's government district, directly on the Spree, serves Augustiner from wooden barrels with a view of the Federal Chancellery. Bavarian classics, centuries-old chestnut trees, and one of the city's longest gastronomic histories.

A new team has been brewing on Hasenheide since 2026 in the kit of the former Brauhaus Südstern, which closed at the end of 2025. Seven beers run from the taps and the beer garden behind the house already belongs to Neukölln. As a gift for men the Suuud Brauerei offers brewing courses and tours, booked directly with the team.

Panke Culture is one of the hip-hop venues in Wedding that doesn't look like a club from the outside. The association is located in Courtyard V of an old factory site directly on the Panke river. The club room accommodates around 300 guests, complemented by a bar, the in-house gallery, and a garden by the water. Musically, the program ranges from Early Reggae to HipHop, Dub, and Bass music.
