When it is pouring and cold outside, your urge to move need not fall by the wayside. Berlin has plenty of options to get through a rainy day dry and active. At the TURM ErlebnisCity in Oranienburg, there is practically nothing that is not on offer, the Kickerworld in Spandau brings indoor football under a roof, and at MYJUMP Berlin Ost in Marzahn you can bounce properly high on the trampoline. Anyone who prefers something calmer can swim their laps at the Stadtbad Neukoelln, one of the most beautiful pools in Europe, or meet up for a round at the green table at the Billard House Friedrichshain. That turns dreary weather into an active day. Where will you spend the next rainy day?

For me, rain is no excuse to sink into the sofa. I would rather leap over the foam pit at MYJUMP Berlin Ost, play a match at the Kickerworld, or swim a few laps at the beautiful Stadtbad Neukoelln. This list has already saved me many a grey day and kept me moving despite the clouds.
TURM ErlebnisCity in Oranienburg covers indoor sports in their entirety: five 25-meter lanes in the sports pool, plus badminton, table tennis, bowling, skittles, and a large-field hall for volleyball, basketball, and football. In the adventure pool, real waves roll in a 400 square meter basin. On rainy days, one day here is rarely enough.
On 8,000 square meters in Spandau, there are three artificial turf PowerCourts, each 30 by 15 meters and fully enclosed with nets, plus a tournament-standard paintball field spanning 45 by 30 meters. Upstairs, the KiCK-In Sportsbar awaits for up to 150 guests. Indoor sports in the rain here means five against five, no matter what comes down from the sky.
The sports center at Kamenzer Damm in Lankwitz combines five indoor sports in one place: ten badminton double courts with sprung floors, three squash courts, two table tennis tables, a tennis hall with carpet flooring, and four double bowling alleys with their own bar. This offers the widest selection for indoor sports during rain in South Berlin.
The Tennis Academy trains at the SportForum Kleinmachnow on four indoor courts: 2,400 square meters under a massive roof, with large skylights and joint-friendly carpet flooring. DTB-licensed trainers work according to a five-stage concept. For indoor sports in the rain, a court can also be rented by the hour without a membership.
The Stadtbad Neukölln, built in 1914, is modeled after ancient thermal baths, featuring a dome, skylight, and a round plunge pool. Reinhold Kiehl was the architect, and the ensemble is a protected monument. Swimming is possible in a 25-meter and a 19-meter hall. For indoor sports when it rains, there's a sauna area with hourly infusions.
TanzSuite dances on the 13th floor of PlaceOne at Strausberger Platz, with panoramic views over Berlin and its own Panorama Dance Bar. Since 2003, over fifty courses per week have been offered here, from Standard and Latin to Salsa and Discofox to Lindy Hop. As an indoor sport in the rain, the trial lesson in most courses is free.
Bowling is fun not only in winter but all year round for young and old. One of the best places in town to do so is Berlin Spandau's Bowling Arena.
The trampoline park on Allee der Kosmonauten in Marzahn features trampolines on the floor and walls, plus a Foam Pit, Ninja Course, Dodgeball Zone, and basketball hoops. In the VALO Arena, up to six people can play Virtual Reality without glasses or vests. For indoor sports on rainy days, only one condition applies: jump socks are mandatory.
The hall on Böttgerstraße at Gesundbrunnen has existed since 2002: around 2,200 square meters of climbing area, about 300 routes and walls up to 15 meters high, plus a bouldering area up to 4.50 meters grip height. Auto belay devices for top-roping and lead climbing make indoor sports possible even alone in the rain, without a partner at the other end of the rope.
On 13,000 square meters of indoor space in Wuhlheide, FEZ-Berlin combines a swimming pool, a children's hands-on museum, a cinema, and the Astrid Lindgren Stage with three venues. In the orbitall space center, children aged eight and older train in a replica of the space station. For indoor sports when it rains, the swimming pool is the core of the facility.
