Foerster Stauden

For all who want to beautify their garden with hardy perennials and beautiful plants, Foerster Stauden in Potsdam is the institution.
For over 100 years, Foerster Stauden in Potsdam has been dedicated to living plants, acquiring extensive knowledge in this field and committing itself to the preservation and dissemination of plant breeds originating in Potsdam-Bornim. As early as 1910, the perennial breeder and garden writer Karl Foerster founded a nursery for hardy perennials, which survived various social upheavals as a state-owned enterprise in the GDR and as a limited company after 1990, and received the Golden Honorary Award at the close of the Federal Garden Show in 2015. Foerster is still considered a pioneer of modern, natural garden design.
Around two and a half thousand (!) perennials and several hundred woody plant varieties are constantly in stock here, making Foerster home to the largest perennial assortment in Germany. The shopping garden alone covers 4000 square meters. In addition, there is a large, listed display garden of the same size. This large garden complex can be visited free of charge. Numerous “green” events and lectures are aimed at garden enthusiasts and those who wish to become one.
