The aim of Bauerngarten Pankow, founded in 2012, is to bring agriculture closer to people. The concept is so well thought out that even absolute gardening newcomers can get started immediately. The farm gardens are embedded in the Botanical People’s Park Blankenfelde-Pankow, a historic garden monument with old greenhouses, fruit trees, and a wildlife enclosure, whose creation dates back to 1909 as a central Berlin school garden and was used as an orchard and vegetable garden during both World Wars. So, whoever works among vegetable beds does so on a site with genuine Berlin history.

After the work is done, you can relax in the park café, visit the World Field (Weltacker), or participate in wild herb walks. Thus, this garden location offers far more than just self-harvesting. However, there’s a catch: the demand for a field plot here is highest and far exceeds the available eight garden circles.
