Allmende Kontor auf der Tempelhofer Freiheit

Already in 2011, the first ten raised beds of the Allmende-Kontor community garden were created on the grounds of the former Tempelhof airfield. Since then, not only the vegetables but also the garden itself has grown significantly! Around 250 raised beds are cultivated by approximately 500 gardeners as part of this urban gardening project. The Allmende-Kontor aims to be not just a garden for everyone, but also a knowledge repository, a place of learning for all who want to discover their green thumb.

In summer, every Saturday from 2 PM to 6 PM, there is an opportunity to meet the organizers and learn more. Since demand is high, Allmende Kontor also wants to help Berliners from other districts establish community gardens. In June 2014, the association “Gemeinschaftsgarten Allmende-Kontor” was founded.
