For me, Austrian cuisine is comfort food that tastes of home, even if that home lies south of the Alps. For this list I tried my way through Kaiserschmarrn and goulash and paid attention to what makes real coziness: handmade dumplings, a carefully curated Austrian wine list, friendly service without any rush and taverns where you happily stretch the evening out.
