Nußbaumerin

In Leibnizstraße in Charlottenburg, just a stone's throw from Kurfürstendamm, Johanna Nußbaumer from Salzburg has been running one of Berlin's best Austrian restaurants since 2008. Classic family recipes, a stylish ambiance with deep green walls, and a Michelin Bib Gourmand award included.
Nußbaumerin: Austrian Cuisine at a High Level
At Leibnizstraße 55 in Charlottenburg, you’ll find one of the few Berlin addresses that takes Austrian cuisine seriously, without shortcuts. Since 2008, restaurateur Johanna Nußbaumer and her team have been serving typical Austrian cuisine at a high level in an elegant and well-maintained ambiance, repeatedly awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand. This is no coincidence. Johanna Nußbaumer cooks according to traditional family recipes and refines Austrian classics. The menu changes seasonally, so regular guests can always be pleasantly surprised.
The dishes served are as common in Vienna as they are rare here: Wiener Schnitzel with lamb’s lettuce and lukewarm potato-cucumber salad, or the city’s best Tafelspitz. Sweet specialties like Kaiserschmarrn with plum compote or Salzburger Nockerln are also not missing from the appetizing menu. The wine selection consistently comes from the chef’s homeland. Those not yet familiar with Austrian culinary vocabulary are also provided with a small bilingual glossary.
Cozy, Personal, Almost Like Home
The ambiance impresses with stylish deep green walls, large mirrors, and stucco. Together with the warm service, an atmosphere is created that feels less like a city restaurant and more like visiting friends. At thirteen tables, Johanna Nußbaumer serves classics prepared according to traditional family recipes. Because Nußbaumerin is accordingly popular, it is essential to make a reservation. For those who want more of the concept, since August 2024, the Nußbaumer Heurigen can also be found at Breitenbachplatz 12 in Zehlendorf, offering Austrian delicacies to take away or enjoy in the beer garden.
