Stern und Kreisschiffahrt GmbH, Anleger Tegel Greenwichpromenade

Berlin's most famous shipping line, Stern und Kreisschiffahrt, embarks from Greenwichpromenade in Reinickendorf into the northern island world, bringing passengers relaxing cruises across Tegeler See, the Upper Havel Lakes, and far into the Berlin countryside on sunny days. Few excursions showcase the city as serenely and expansively as this one.
Berlin Boat Trips: Excursion from Greenwichpromenade
Sightseeing and relaxation can hardly be better combined on the water. The Greenwichpromenade was extensively modernized in 2009 and is now one of the most beautiful promenades on Berlin’s waterways. It is named after Reinickendorf’s London partner district. The jetty itself has seven bridges for excursion boats, making the coming and going on the water a real spectacle.
The Greenwichpromenade steamship pier at Tegel Harbor is the starting point for the popular 2-hour Upper Havel Lakes cruise and the 3.5-hour boat trip from Tegel to the city center. Those with more time can opt for the grand day trip: The boat tour to Lehnitzsee starts at Greenwichpromenade and leads on an approximately 6.5-hour day trip through idyllic Havel landscapes all the way to Oranienburg and back again.
Stern und Kreisschiffahrt: What Makes the Tours So Special
The centerpiece of the offering is undoubtedly the Upper Havel Lakes cruise. It’s the classic in the North: a 2-hour boat tour across the picturesque Upper Havel Lakes, past numerous small islands, forest landscapes, and historic villas and buildings along the banks. Passengers also pass the former border tower in Nieder Neuendorf. Those who want to head towards the city center, however, depart from the Tegel steamship pier and travel past the Government District, Museum Island, Nikolaiviertel, and the Oberbaumbrücke.
It’s also practical: The pier is located directly on Lake Tegel in northern Berlin, and both the pier and the ship MS Havel Queen are barrier-free. It can be easily reached by public transport. From Alt-Tegel U-Bahn station (U6), it’s only a ten-minute walk to the pier. Tickets can be booked online and conveniently shown via smartphone.
