Located in Berlin-Friedrichshain the indoor and outdoor climbing park Der Kegel is home to one of Berlin’s more alternative neighborhoods. It got its name – which translates as “the cone” – because of the cone-shaped climbing hall. Here you can climb as much as you want, host a children’s birthday party or try some climbing classes with the whole family. If you’re new to climbing you can start with an introduction course, where you can get a first feel of the topic, or start with a beginner’s class. Advanced climbers will be taught different security techniques or shoo some new climbing items at the shop.

If you make it to the top of the cone you can sign a summit log to celebrate your successful climb – the view you get from above – all over the East Side Gallery and to the TV Tower – is an additional motivation to make it.
