EZGS: Dog Sports Club in Zehlendorf

The EZGS trains on Teltower Damm in the southwest of Berlin, directly on the border with Teltow. The club is open to all breeds and mixed breeds, training takes place on its own outdoor ground. The program includes agility, working dog sports, obedience, rally obedience, dog sports competition, and recreational sports; there are separate groups for puppies and young dogs.

Entry is possible without membership. Interested individuals first train with a 10-session pass or as a guest member; only afterward is admission to the club provided. In addition, there are taster days for individual sports, such as Hoopers, where a discipline can be tried out in a single session.

Competitive Sports and Club Life

The sporting ambition is clearly noticeable: club teams regularly compete in tournaments. In recreational sports, however, there are no competitive ambitions; the focus here is on engaging with one’s own dog.

Besides training, the club thrives on its events: Easter bonfire, New Year’s Eve walk, and Christmas party are part of it, as is working on the grounds. Members come from different generations and bring correspondingly different dogs. The annual fee is 150 Euros, plus a one-time admission fee of 75 Euros.
