Berlin's first dog ice cream manufacturer is located in Marienfelde and produces frozen yogurt for four-legged friends: lactose-free, without added sugar, and in flavors from salmon to watermelon. The recipes were developed in collaboration with veterinarians.
Cold&Dog: Dog Ice Cream from Marienfelde
Cold&Dog is Berlin’s first dog ice cream manufacturer, founded by brothers Raoul and Roman Krohn. The inspiration was their own dog Lupo, a Doberman and German Shepherd mix. Production takes place in Marienfelde, with ice cream filled into 90-milliliter cups.
The frozen yogurts consist of natural ingredients, are lactose-free, and contain no added sugar. The recipes were developed in collaboration with veterinarians and have a probiotic effect, which benefits intestinal flora.
From Salmon to Watermelon
The flavors range from wild salmon to hearty cheese dream and tropical shrimp cocktail, all the way to watermelon and a vegan coconut variant. Additionally, there are lickable treats in tubes, dog popcorn, and gift boxes.
A box with twelve portions costs around 32 Euros, the vegan variety 33.60 Euros. Orders are placed online, with free shipping for two or more ice cream boxes. Retailers in the city also sell the ice cream.
