In the heart of Charlottenburg, near Savignyplatz, a piece of the city transforms into a medieval adventure village. The "Sherwood Forest" playground on Knesebeckstraße focuses on fantasy over functionality, featuring Robin Hood, fairy tale figures, and an unparalleled climbing castle.

“Sherwood Forest” Playground: Knights, Robbers, and Lots of Climbing Castle

South of the S-Bahn, near Savignyplatz, in Sherwood Forest, amidst dense tree and bush islands, stands Robin Hood’s large climbing castle. The theme is consistently applied: a small forest with fairy tale figures invites dreaming, and right next to it, a huge, colorful castle complex with a village transports children back to the Middle Ages. The climbing castle, integrated into the tree landscape, delights little heroes with suspension bridges, tree platforms, and slides; there are also various towers and battlements to discover. So, whoever always wanted to know what it feels like to storm a castle will find the answer here.

Little robbers and noble maidens can let their imagination run wild here and play through castle walls, the medieval village, and Sherwood Forest. The playground is designed for all ages: separate areas for smaller and older children ensure that both two-year-olds and schoolchildren get their money’s worth.

Water, Sports, and Cafés Around

In addition to the climbing castle, the playground holds further surprises. A zip line spans across the playground, swings bring children close to the sky, and several table tennis tables are available for the sporty ones. Older children can also let off steam on a BMX course, a soccer field, and a volleyball court. In summer, another highlight is added: a water play area transforms the popular playground into a real splash oasis. In winter, when it snows, it even becomes a sledding hill. If parents need a short break: around the playground, there are shops, cafés, and restaurants, as well as Kantstraße with its many Asian eateries. The “Sherwood Forest” playground is accessible daily around the clock, making it one of the most straightforward playgrounds in Berlin.
