Playground “Dragonland”

In the heart of Friedrichshain, the "Dragonland" playground awaits with an oversized wooden dragon that invites climbing, sliding, and balancing. An adventure world has been created here on approximately 1,470 m², where the dragon motif consistently runs through all play equipment.
“Dragonland” Playground: Where Dragons Rule
The public “Dragonland” playground in Berlin-Friedrichshain offers a large adventure and experience area for children on approximately 1,470 m². Since its grand opening in 2002, Dragonland has been one of the most popular playgrounds in Friedrichshain. Anyone who has been here once immediately understands why. The huge, colorful dragon watching over the playground was selected in a competition and built as a wooden construction. Children climb the dragon’s head via a rope balancing course and a wooden path, where a climbing net tunnel can be discovered. The structure is exited via a slide in the tail.
The dragon motif extends through all play equipment and even reaches the shady meadow area: countless dragon heads peek out from the pergola. This is consistent thematic play at playground level. Children from the surrounding area were also involved in the planning, which is still evident in the place today: it feels real, not interchangeable.
For All Age Groups: Climbing, Mucking, Swinging
A sand play area for the youngest invites building sandcastles, while slightly older children enjoy the double swing and balancing ropes. This ensures that even the youngest are well catered for. Particularly popular in summer is the water area with a pump, which hardly any child leaves without mud stains. Parents should therefore pack a change of clothes; this is not advice, but a necessity here.
While the children slide and climb, parents make themselves comfortable in the shade under the pergola, from which dragon heads protrude. Step-like seating areas around the playground also invite visitors to linger. The “Dragonland” playground at Schreinerstraße 48 is one of those places where even adults briefly forget that they are actually only there to supervise.
