Gleisdreieck Park in Kreuzberg is more than just a playground. Multiple play areas, a nature exploration space, and the legendary 'Stangenwald' (pole forest) make this expansive green area one of the most versatile play spaces in the city.

Gleisdreieck Playground: Climbing, Mud Play, Discovering

Gleisdreieck Park is located on former railway grounds between Kreuzberg and Schöneberg and houses several playgrounds for different age groups. In the East Park along Möckernstraße, there are two play areas: the “Kinderzimmer” (Children’s Room) with a water pump for the younger ones, and the “Stangenwald” (Pole Forest) at the Hornstraße entrance, which is also suitable for older children. The latter is a particular highlight for children: climbing nets, slides, and swings are built between the wooden poles.

In addition, there is a nature exploration space where children can experience plants, animals, soil, and water across an area of 5,000 square meters. Clay mounds for mud play and rolling down are among the special features. Those who like can get really dirty here. This is expressly encouraged.

Something for Every Age

In the West Park, between the Lützowstraße and Pohlstraße entrances, is the “Pohlstraße” toddler playground, and at the Kurfürstenstraße entrance, the water playground with climbing and activity options for children aged two to ten. This area is currently undergoing a complete renovation and will reopen in spring with new equipment for balancing, climbing, swinging, sliding, and hanging, as well as accessible elements.

Another, slightly smaller play area offers a nice circuit on fixed and movable beams and nets, perfect for climbing and practicing balance. Gleisdreieck Playground is also excellently connected: U1, U2, and U3 lines intersect directly at Gleisdreieck, and Potsdamer Platz, in the immediate vicinity, offers additional S-Bahn and regional train connections. So, for those traveling across the city with children, this is a clear destination.
