In Berlin's Neukölln district, a 6,000 square meter playground awaits, evoking childhood memories: "Pippi's World" on Theodor-Loos-Weg takes little adventurers into the world of Pippi Longstocking, including Villa Villekulla, Taka-Tuka-Land, and water fun.
Playground “Pippi’s World”: Adventures in Neukölln
Who would have thought that Astrid Lindgren’s most famous girl with the red pigtails would get her own playground right in the middle of Berlin? This Neukölln location is dedicated to the legendary Astrid Lindgren character. Covering around 6,000 square meters of play area, the variedly designed playground on Theodor-Loos-Weg takes children into the world of Pippi Longstocking. Nothing is missing: various climbing opportunities, slides, swings, seesaws, balance beams, and wooden figures encourage imaginative play. Villa Villekulla, in particular, can be explored with enthusiasm, from which a slide leads back to the sand play area. Furthermore, the lemonade tree also piques children’s interest.
From Taka-Tuka-Land to the Water Play Area
The playground is cleverly divided into different worlds. In the “Taka-Tuka-Land” play area, the mangrove forest invites balancing acts and climbing adventures, or hiding in the fisherman’s hut. From there, it continues seamlessly: children can cross over bridges to the water play area, where water is tirelessly pumped and extensively mucked around with sand. Older children, in turn, find their territory in the jungle landscape “Tonga-Tapu”. Additionally, there are adjoining football and basketball courts, as well as a BMX track for bike tricks. If you need a break: For parents, there are benches and beams to relax on, or sunbathing lawns in good weather. In short, “Pippi’s World” is one of Berlin’s most imaginative playgrounds for children of all ages.
