The hier. on Schönhauser Allee serves healthy food at fair prices for lunch, entirely without superfood hype and imported ingredients. The new eatery consciously cooks seasonally and regionally - with everything the Berlin region currently has to offer. For lunch, popular dishes such as hearty stews or potato salad with fresh greens land on the plate.

hier. – Simple Ingredients, True Craftsmanship

The claim is “Finally nothing new,” and that, contrary to what one might think, is no joke. In the new lunch spot on Schönhauser Allee, instead of superfoods, exotic spices, or new food trends, they prefer to focus on what the region produces. Products like lemons, cinnamon, chocolate, olive oil, and pepper are consciously banished from the kitchen. Instead, what the season allows lands on the plates: fresh, unadulterated, and with flavors that reflect the region. Coffee is completely absent from the menu; instead, there’s Muckefuck made from sweet lupins, hot or as cold brew. Behind the concept is a team with a conscious attitude, whose aspiration is already embedded in the name: “hier” (here) stands for a culinary anchoring in the moment through a focus on seasonal and regional foods.

Affordable Lunch with Regional Cuisine in Prenzlauer Berg

They offer changing lunch dishes, salads, soups and stews, quiches and savory strudels from the oven, sandwiches, and homemade drinks. The menu is small and changes weekly; exclusively vegetarian and vegan. This makes an affordable lunch in Berlin a moment that satisfies without overwhelming. Prices for dishes range between 8.00-13.00 Euros and vary depending on the week and season. In addition to individual dishes, “hier.” also offers combi-menus, including a main course, drink, and a choice of side dish or dessert.

The regional eatery is located in the AchtBerlin building complex, an ensemble of restored, listed old buildings and modern new constructions, which today houses various companies, offices, co-working spaces, and its own cinema across 8,000 square meters. The eatery is thus specifically aimed at the lunch break: at neighbors, offices, creatives in the building, and everyone looking for a healthy and affordable lunch in Prenzlauer Berg. The audience is accordingly broad. But one thing is guaranteed: everyone who fancies healthy, regional cuisine will feel at home here.
