The Beelitz-Heilstätten Barefoot Park in Beelitz is Brandenburg's largest nature adventure park, sending families barefoot through deciduous forests, mud pools, and over 60 sensory stations. A destination that amazes children and adults alike.

Barefoot Adventure in the Forest: What Families Can Expect at the Barefoot Park

Since its opening in June 2017, Beelitz-Heilstätten Barefoot Park has been one of the most beautiful destinations in Brandenburg for families with children. At 15 hectares, it is Brandenburg’s largest nature adventure park and is located in the middle of an extensive forest area. Those who come here truly leave everyday life behind. The park has a total of four different paths that lead through deciduous, pine, and birch forests, making them pleasantly shady even in midsummer.

While the Red and Yellow paths feature many attractions specifically for children, the blue paths are more for relaxation and balance. Together, all paths total approximately 3.6 kilometers in length, which we found very pleasant for children. Along the way, there is straw, mud, clay, beech nuts, stones, pine cones, fine sand, and even fine shards of glass underfoot. Don’t worry: the glass shards are rounded and absolutely safe.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Over 60 stations in the forest invite visitors to experience nature with all their senses and test their skill, endurance, and team spirit. These include scent and touch boxes, sound spheres, listening tubes, a tree telephone, a sand pendulum, a ball labyrinth, and a group xylophone. A herb garden, an adventure playground, a giant swing, and two small cafés with regional delicacies offer additional attractions for all ages. At the end of the tour, there are cleaning stations with water hoses and brushes for the feet, which we found particularly practical during our visit.

Prices, Location, and Getting There

Admission for adults costs €10.00 in the off-season and €10.50 in the main season, while children aged 3 and up pay €8.00 and €8.50 respectively. The season runs annually from April to the end of September. Beelitz Barefoot Park is located approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Berlin. By train, the regional express RE 7 stops several times a day at Beelitz-Heilstätten station. Those arriving by car should take the A9, exit Beelitz-Heilstätten, and then follow the signs towards Barfußpark. It is best to check current prices and opening hours briefly on the official website before your visit.
