Since 1927, Spandau has been making the best ice cream alternative to industrial products: The Florida Eismanufaktur produces Berlin's first CO₂-neutral ice cream, handmade, without artificial flavors, and with over 50 varieties ranging from classic vanilla to popcorn caramel.
Florida Eismanufaktur: Berlin’s oldest ice cream parlor makes trendy ice cream with a conscience
Florida Eismanufaktur has been producing handmade ice cream at its Berlin-Spandau location since 1927. What started as a small ice cream parlor on Klosterstrasse is now a well-established name in Berlin’s trendy ice cream scene. Florida Eis is Berlin’s first CO₂-conscious ice cream, handmade in Spandau with solar energy and the best ingredients. And the special thing about it: The company not only produces CO₂-neutral, but also emphasizes craftsmanship, more than one might imagine. This means the manufactory goes far beyond what other ice cream shops market as “artisan”.
In 2025, Florida Eis was once again honored as a Climate Protection Partner Berlin, this time also for its expansion of electromobility. Currently, 17 of the nearly 40 delivery vehicles are electric cars, saving around 7.3 tons of CO₂ per year. So, if you want to enjoy trendy ice cream and soothe your climate conscience, this is the right place.
Over 50 Varieties of Handmade Ice Cream: From Classic to Trending
The range includes around 50 varieties from over 120 recipes. Vanilla and strawberry, like in 1927, stand alongside Popcorn Caramel, Tiramisu Crunch, and Pecan Nut with caramelized US-cake-style pieces. There are also seasonal varieties that demonstrate that innovation is not a foreign word in Spandau. Almonds are roasted by hand, chocolate pieces are handmade, and artificial additives are avoided. The range also includes numerous lactose-free and gluten-free ice cream variations.
The ice cream parlor at Klosterstrasse 15 in Spandau is more than just a sales room. The ice cream parlors are the perfect place for a little break: whether it’s a large sundae with fresh fruit, a creamy cappuccino in the sun, or the first scoop of ice cream for the little ones. For generations, families, friends, and ice cream lovers have been coming to enjoy handmade ice cream in a relaxed atmosphere. If you can’t enjoy it on site, you can find Florida Eis in the online shop and at 1,390 retail partners throughout Germany.
