American Western Saloon

The American Western Saloon is the only American diner in Berlin with its own Jack Daniel's exhibition: Over 600 exhibits are displayed in showcases and on the walls. Located in the basement of the Fontane House in Reinickendorf, it offers 180 seats, a stage for country bands, and a 50-square-meter dance floor for line dance classes.

American Western Saloon: a piece of Tennessee in the Märkisches Viertel

The American Western Saloon is located in the basement of the Fontane House on Wilhelmsruher Damm in the Märkisches Viertel in Reinickendorf. From the outside, little indicates what lies behind the door, as the Fontane House is a cultural center with a theater hall and library. The team has operated the Saloon at this address since January 11, 2001; before that, it was located on Ollenhauerstraße for over ten years. In front of the entrance is a terrace with 44 seats, including its own smoking lounge. Those arriving by car will find parking spaces on Königshorster Straße behind the building. By public transport, the route is via U8 or S1 to Wittenau and from there by bus to the Märkisches Zentrum stop.

Inside, the Saloon has 180 seats, plus 20 seats in the smoking room. The stage measures 5.50 by 3.40 meters, and the dance floor in front of it is about 50 square meters. On the walls and in showcases, you’ll find owner Frank M. Lange’s private Jack Daniel’s collection with well over 600 exhibits related to the whiskey from Lynchburg, Tennessee. The menu features burgers, steaks, chicken wings, and baby back ribs marinated in honey and Nescafé. The Western Saloon Burger costs 13.50 Euros, half a kilo of Baby Back Ribs 19.50 Euros. Country bands play live on weekends, and line dance classes for beginners are held during the week. For groups, there are three separate areas: Thompson’s Barn for up to 22 people, the Saloon Tenne for up to 30, and the Tennessee Corner for up to 16 guests.
