Planet Wein is the wine shop at Gendarmenmarkt: Sommelière Anja Schröder has been running the shop on Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße since 2005 and has over 500 wines on display, focusing on Riesling, German Pinot Noir, and Champagne. On Fridays, wine is served openly until 11 PM, and on Thursdays, themed evenings feature seven to ten wines.

Located directly on the Spree in Berlin-Mitte, Grill Royal is the city's most famous celebrity restaurant. The menu features cuts from German Simmental to Japanese Wagyu, and its wine selection was listed three times among Berlin's best cellars by Star Wine List 2025. Leonardo DiCaprio, Scarlett Johansson, and Karl Lagerfeld have all dined here.

On Bernauer Strasse, the border ran straight through a row of houses, from whose windows people jumped into West Berlin. Today, the Berlin Wall Memorial stretches over 4.4 hectares and 1.4 kilometers, featuring the only section of border fortifications preserved in full depth. The Window of Remembrance names the 132 civilian victims.

Solebox is one of Berlin's oldest sneaker shops, founded in 2002 by Hikmet Sugoer. Today, on Nürnberger Straße, a robot named Solebot retrieves the desired pair from the warehouse behind a glass front. The shelves feature Nike, Jordan, adidas Originals, New Balance, and Asics, along with apparel and accessories. The store is located close to Wittenbergplatz.

Sundays in Prenzlauer Berg are all about browsing, bargaining, and discovering: The Mauerpark Flea Market is Berlin's most famous flea market, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world, offering much more than just a market with vintage goods, live karaoke, and street food.

Big cinema at Zoo Palast! The elaborately restored, traditional Berlin cinema shows sophisticated entertainment and family films.

Einar & Bert Theaterbuchhandlung on Winsstraße is Germany's only theater bookstore and belongs to Theater der Zeit publishing house. Over 12,000 titles on theater, dance, and performance are displayed among stage set pieces from a Castorf production at the Volksbühne. Among bookstores in Berlin, this is the go-to address for theater professionals.

Perched high on the 14th floor of the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin-Tiergarten, Hugos reigns as Berlin's highest Michelin-starred restaurant, offering panoramic views over the city's rooftops. From the Victory Column to Potsdamer Platz, the cityscape unfolds while Franco-Mediterranean gourmet cuisine of Michelin quality is served at the table.

Behind the sandstone facade in Grunewald are high-ceilinged rooms with stucco, crystal chandeliers, and heavy fabrics, surrounded by a park where the city completely disappears. For a marriage proposal, you don't really need to stage anything here; the setting takes care of it itself. And if you don't want the moment to end with the journey home, simply stay overnight.

Directly opposite the Hotel Adlon and just a few steps from the Brandenburg Gate, Curry Wolf sells the original Berlin Currywurst, which the family business has made in the city according to its own recipe. As a Berlin souvenir, it travels in a swing-top jar along with the in-house ketchup. The spicy 'Opium' sauce is also available.

The Hohenschönhausen Memorial is located in Lichtenberg behind a four-meter-high wall and served as the central remand prison for the State Security from 1951 to 1990. Approximately 10,000 people were incarcerated here. Today, eyewitnesses who were themselves imprisoned lead visitors through the cells and interrogation rooms, making the GDR dictatorship immediately comprehensible.

If you want to know where your clothes come from, Marienburger Straße 39 in Prenzlauer Berg is a must-visit. Wertvoll opened in 2009 as one of the first stores of its kind in Berlin and transparently presents the production processes of the brands it carries. Women's and men's fashion in timeless designs.

The American Western Saloon is the only American diner in Berlin with its own Jack Daniel's exhibition: Over 600 exhibits are displayed in showcases and on the walls. Located in the basement of the Fontane House in Reinickendorf, it offers 180 seats, a stage for country bands, and a 50-square-meter dance floor for line dance classes.

Among all Berlin sights the Brandenburg Gate is clearly one of the classics.

The Bird at Falkplatz is the American Diner in Berlin for everyone who doesn't want to eat their burger with a knife and fork. Each patty weighs 250 grams, consists of regionally sourced beef freshly ground in the morning, and comes in an English muffin. The steaks are 30-day dry-aged US Black Angus from Creekstone Farms, with salad and cucumber served alongside.

Mall of Berlin is the shopping center located in the heart of the government district at Leipziger Platz, built on the former site of the Wertheim department store. Around 200 shops are spread across four levels and 76,000 square meters, plus one of Germany's largest food courts on the second floor. A large portion of the area has been undergoing renovation since 2025.

Custom-made shoes, crafted in over 200 steps and more than 100 hours of manual labor, Goodyear-welted or brass-nailed, are created after digital foot measurement in Blücherstraße. The company includes four Berlin locations and a manufactory in Mitte. In addition to Oxfords, Budapesters, and Boots, they offer diabetic and orthotic shoes, as well as custom-made sneakers.

High above Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg, the Grace Rooftop Bar of Hotel Zoo Berlin is perched on the seventh floor, offering a rich 270-degree panorama over the rooftops of City West. The Grace Garden, with its lush greenery, lounge chairs, and fire pits, makes this viewpoint one of Berlin's most stylish rooftop terraces.

In the Simon Dach quarter of Friedrichshain, a mother and her son have run a Breton creperie since 2011, using buckwheat flour from a mill in Brittany. The cheese comes from a French cheese boutique in Prenzlauer Berg and the coffee from a Berlin roastery. The menu covers savoury galettes and sweet crepes, plus a vegan version.

The Museum für Naturkunde houses the tallest mounted dinosaur skeleton in the world: the Brachiosaurus brancai measures 13.27 metres and holds a certified Guinness World Record. Behind it lies a collection of around 30 million objects, 15 million of which come from the entomological collection of insects alone, housed in the building opened in 1889.

Right by Warschauer Straße station lies the city's most famous karaoke bar. Behind the illuminated sign, an open stage and fourteen private booths for four to sixteen people await, along with drag and dance shows and unique formats like Boxhopping. The small booth costs 20 Euros per hour, admission from 21 years with ID.

The Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin is located directly on Pariser Platz next to the Brandenburg Gate and features 307 rooms and 78 suites. The hotel houses the Michelin-starred Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, five other dining establishments, and a three-story spa with its own entrance on Behrenstraße. The ballroom accommodates up to 500 guests.
