Café Tschüsch

The small yet trendy café in Berlin-Neukölln is a real insider tip for an authentic Indian cuisine and a vegetarian/vegan menu.

The trendy Café Tschüsch can be found in a small street close to Sonnenallee in Berlin-Neukölln. From the outside the interior of the bistro is anything but typical Indian. The café is small and cozy, but the furniture is kept simple. You will not find bright color combinations or golden sculptures in here. Instead there is a casual Neukölln atmosphere: wooden tables, a few more cozy sitting corners in between and a back room with a books corner. This definitely is not your average Indian restaurant, because the decor seems rather alternative and reminds much more of a relaxed place with Caribbean flair than a touristy Indian restaurant.

The food is very authentic. The menu at Café Tschüsch is simple and offers various vegetarian and vegan curry and spinach dishes. The focus lies on freshness. Except for the sandwiches, each dish is gluten-free. Flavor enhancers and garlic are not used in the kitchen. For vegan dishes ingredients such as cream or cheese are weighed with other alternatives. The indication of the different degrees of spiciness is extraordinary. Courageous people spice up their food “Indian spicy”, anyone with a rather European likes chooses a milder version.

If you have some time after your meal, you are welcome to relax in the rear area with a yogi tea, reading a good book.
Café Tschüsch is an inherent part of the neighborhood. Regular readings or group meetings of the Kiez-initiatives in Neukölln take place here.
