A fixed name in Berlin's restaurant scene since 1998: AMRIT Mitte on Oranienburger Straße serves authentic Indian cuisine and boasts one of the city's largest terraces with around 400 outdoor seats. Extensive menu, open all year round.

AMRIT Mitte: Indian Restaurant with History on Oranienburger Straße

Anyone going for Indian food in Berlin can hardly miss AMRIT. The Indian restaurant opened in Berlin Mitte in 1998, back then directly opposite the legendary Tacheles, becoming the second location after the successful original in Kreuzberg. Since then, the address at Oranienburger Straße 45 has become an indispensable part of the cityscape. AMRIT Mitte is located in close proximity to the New Synagogue, Museum Island, and Alexanderplatz. After a long day of sightseeing, the restaurant is a reliable address for Indian cuisine in the city center.

This is how AMRIT works: The menu includes 61 dishes, offering a diverse selection of authentic, traditionally spiced meals. Classic dishes such as Tandoori Chicken and Indian vegetable soup are particularly popular. If desired, you can also reorder rice for free, and the Bathura bread is simply a must among regulars. In addition, there is an extensive cocktail menu.

Terrace, Lunch Specials, and Open 365 Days a Year

With more than 400 outdoor seats, AMRIT Mitte is one of Berlin’s largest Indian restaurants, which also makes it a popular tourist destination. If you want to play it safe: The restaurant is open 365 days a year, whether for a business lunch, cocktail hour, or private celebrations. Lunch deals start from just 7.90 Euros, cocktails are available from 5.90 Euros. Even in cooler months, no one has to freeze outside, as the terrace is equipped with patio heaters. Despite the sheer size of the establishment, AMRIT Mitte impresses with attentive service and a pleasant ambiance.
