The Museum Island is the biggest univeral museum in the world!


The Altes Museum and Neues Museum, the Bode Museum, the Pergamon Museum and the Old National Gallery attract visitors with impressive cultural artefacts like the bust of Nefertiti or the 2000-year-old Pergamon Altar and much more.

When you visit there you will embark on a journey through time to antiquity and immerse yourself in cultures long gone. Such a concentration of culture is a must for any local and tourist alike. The Museum Island has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999.

Important information

  • Price Level: According to each museum and special exhibition. Top10 Tip: There is an area ticket available for the Museum Island acting as a day pass to all museums there. The normal price for the area ticket is 18,00 euro, 17,00 euro when booking online.
  • Barrier-Free: Access to the Museum Island is basically barrier-free. Same goes for the New Museum, Bode Museum (access via the Monbijou Bridge with a lifting ramp which can be operated with the Euro-key) and the Old Museum (access via an entrance right of the main door: Am Lustgarten 1. Please ring the bell!). Part of the exhibition at the Pergamon-Museum and in the Old National Gallery are only of limited suitability for wheelchair access.
  • Languages: Varies between the museums. An audio guide in German and English is available in all museums.
  • Parking: difficult
