Bierhof Rüdersdorf

Friedrichshain

Right next to Berghain, in the heart of Friedrichshain: Bierhof Rüdersdorf transforms a former district heating transfer station into a green, cozy beer garden with an industrial character, sun terrace, and the relaxed opposite of the club scene next door.

Concrete, Beer, and Burgers: Bierhof Rüdersdorf at a Glance

If you’re looking for a beer garden in Berlin that doesn’t feel like a folk festival, you’ll find it here. A former concrete structure, reminiscent of the Friedrichshain heating power plant built in 1953, has been converted into a two-story sun terrace. There are various seating options on three levels, and two oversized Hollywood swings invite you to relax in the shade of the trees. A fountain also babbles as an atmospheric centerpiece of the courtyard.

The concept is clear: Bierhof Rüdersdorf is exclusively self-service, and only cash payments are accepted. The outdoor bar opens from Thursday to Sunday from 16:00 when the weather is good, and in addition to draft beer like Bürgerbräu Rotkehlchen, there are wine, long drinks, and juices, as well as burgers, currywurst (also vegan), fries, and sandwiches. So you order yourself, and eat in peace.

A Summer Spot for Friedrichshain Since 2006

Bierhof Rüdersdorf has existed since 2006, making it one of the more enduring outdoor meeting spots in the district. Those who know the area anyway know: Next door is Berghain, arguably the most famous techno club worldwide. Also nearby is Schoenbrunn in Volkspark Friedrichshain, which offers a spacious, green beer garden with a grill kitchen. Both places appeal to a similar audience but rely on very different atmospheres. Bierhof Rüdersdorf remains the quieter of the two, which makes it special as a beer garden in Berlin.
