The Zyankali Bar in Kreuzberg is Berlin's oldest independent cocktail bar and a true laboratory: molecular drinks, house-distilled absinthe, and barrel-aged cocktails make Gneisenaustraße the go-to address for anyone who truly takes bar culture seriously.

Berlin's oldest cocktail bar has been located since 1976 in an inconspicuous ground-floor apartment in Wilmersdorf, Fasanenstraße 40 - whoever finds the black door with the golden frame and rings the bell enters the self-proclaimed "Institute for Advanced Drinking". There's room for barely more than a handful of guests, and cocktails are served without a menu.

Bar 3 is a real "artists' bar" and the creative meeting point of Berlin's art, theatre and movie scene in Berlin-Mitte.

The KIM Bar on Berlin's gallery strip on Mitte's Brunnenstraße took over the location of the former Postcafé. The bar may be small in size and quite inconspicuous but it makes up for all that with its great atmospere.

The Fahimi Bar on Kreuzberg's Cottbuser Tor scores above all with its atmosphere.

Located on Maaßenstraße, NachBAR has been serving drinks between Nollendorfplatz and Winterfeldtplatz since 1994, offering over 100 cocktails, from classics with freshly squeezed juices to the 'Hexerei' (Witchcraft) section. On Fridays and Saturdays, themed nights with DJs are added. During Happy Hour, selected cocktails cost 7.90 Euros, plus a changing cocktail of the day.

Just a stone's throw from Savignyplatz, the June Wine Bar is located on Knesebeckstraße in Charlottenburg: warm light, a sophisticated wine list, and cuisine that demands to be taken seriously.

The 11n Lounge on Grünberger Straße features two separately designed bars and a shisha offering that ranges from hookah selection to tobacco consultation.
