Kaminbar Berlin: Warmth in the Old City Bath

The Kaminbar is located on the ground floor of Hotel Oderberger in Prenzlauer Berg, a listed city bath that reopened in 2016 as a hotel with a public swimming pool. The room was formerly the vaulted heart of the old bathhouse, and the large fireplace is still covered with tiles from the original construction. Opposite it stands a wall-high bar that holds the room together.

Guests sit on heavy velvet wing chairs or on a leather couch, the light is dimmed, and soft music plays in the background. On cold evenings, this creates a living room atmosphere, a rarity in Berlin bars. The string of lights on the facade, casting a warm glow into the bar, is noticeable even from the street.

Cocktails with Regional Ingredients

The bar menu combines classics like Swimming Pool and Mai Tai with original creations, including several Mule variations: the fruity El Diablo with tequila, blackcurrant liqueur, and ginger lemonade, or the Gin Gin Mule with mint and lime. Served stylishly in a copper mug, many ingredients come from regional production.

It is open Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00, and bar workshops with the team can be booked upon request. The seats right by the fireplace are quickly taken even during the week – arriving early is worthwhile.
