ZU SPÄTI?!-Molotow Cocktail: Späti and Cocktail Bar in One Space

At Oranienstraße 189, between Kottbusser Tor and Görlitzer Bahnhof, there’s a bar that does two things at once. In the front, there’s a self-service refrigerator from which you can grab bottled drinks, just like in a Späti. In the back, a bar operates where cocktails are mixed, either for consumption on-site or to take away. This combination is not common even in Kreuzberg 36, and it explains the name. The room is illuminated with neon tubes, giving it a vibrant color that can be seen from the street.

House Drinks, Outdoor Seating, and an Unconventional Music Selection

The menu features the Molotow Cocktail, a house drink that gives the bar its second name, as well as classics like the Cuba Libre. Prices remain at the level expected in this section of Oranienstraße, and Happy Hour further reduces them. Payment is accepted via debit and credit card or contactless via smartphone. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors, with sidewalk spots being occupied first on warm evenings. When it comes to music, the establishment takes a different approach than the neighborhood: instead of techno or indie, pop and old school play, occasionally also soul and R’n’B. Reservations are not provided and also not necessary.
