Wohnzimmer Bar

The Wohnzimmer Bar on Lettestraße north of Helmholtzplatz is furnished with sofas and flea market furniture, and not without reason is it called that. During the day it operates as a café, known in the neighborhood for its latte, and in the evening as a bar with sours, fizzes, and frozen daiquiris. During happy hour, every cocktail costs 8 euros.

Wohnzimmer Bar: Flea Market Furniture North of Helmholtzplatz

The Wohnzimmer Bar at Lettestraße 6 bears its name for good reason. It is furnished with sofas, armchairs, and tables from flea markets; nothing matches, and precisely from this arises the impression of sitting in a very large old apartment. In the back, the ‘Kabinett’ is a separate area, ideal for longer evenings in a small group. The establishment sees itself as a café, bar, and club simultaneously, and the later it gets, the more the emphasis shifts towards the bar. North of Helmholtzplatz, this is one of the addresses that have shaped the neighborhood.

From Latte to Frozen Daiquiri

The establishment became known for its latte, which has its own reputation in the neighborhood. Additionally, there’s breakfast, sandwiches, and milkshakes, so everything that makes a bar usable in the afternoon. In the evening, the cocktail menu takes over with sours, fizzes, daiquiris, and frozen daiquiris, as well as a range of rum and vodka drinks. Reservations are not possible, with one exception: for the ‘Extraküche’ (extra kitchen), registration is requested. There, guests can eat their own brought breakfast specialties; the establishment provides the dishes. This arrangement is rarely found elsewhere in Berlin, and it explains part of the regular clientele.
