KRAFT Runners: Interval Training on Tuesday Evenings in Mitte
It all started in Berlin, with a fixed meeting point, a specific time, and the conviction that running in a group is easier than running alone. This has grown into one of the largest running communities in the German-speaking world, which now trains in 16 cities across Germany and Austria. The basic principle has remained: the weekly training sessions are free, no registration is required, and the program consists of structured interval training where every pace is welcome.
In Berlin, the group starts on Tuesdays at 7 PM at KORNER on Linienstraße 106, just a few steps from Kleine Hamburger Straße. Bags and jackets can be dropped off on-site, after which the group sets off together. Anyone who has decided to run regularly has a good reason with the fixed weekly appointment not to leave their running shoes in the closet.
Running in Berlin: Together Instead of Against Each Other
At KRAFT, it’s not about being faster than others, but about pushing each other. The training sessions are led by City Hosts who, after work, don’t go home but motivate others to run. Those who wish can stay for a chat with the group after training.
In addition to weekly training, the KRAFT Runners organize community runs and their own running events. The most well-known is the KRAFT10TAUSEND, where participants run for 10,000 seconds, alone or as a team. For many, this is a concrete goal that can be worked towards for months.
