Ostereiersuche im Französischen Dom

Between historic walls and panoramic views, the classic Easter routine at the French Cathedral becomes a small journey of discovery.
If you want to experience something special with children this Easter, we recommend the Easter egg hunt at the French Cathedral on Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt. The concept is simple but charming: children aged approximately 4 to 10 years climb the cathedral’s 360-degree viewing platform together with an accompanying adult. On the way up, they have to count hidden Easter eggs. At the end, a small Easter surprise bag, lovingly put together and included in the price, awaits at the cash desk downstairs. For 9.50 Euros, both the entry for one child and an accompanying adult are included. The egg hunt is possible between 10:00 and 17:30, the platform closes at 18:00.
We particularly like that it’s not just the little ones who enjoy themselves here. If you wish, you can combine the outing with an extended Easter meal at the adjoining restaurant Hugo & Notte. Here, a festive 4-course menu is served – stylish, regional, and with several options to choose from:
The classic menu variant starts with cured Brandenburg char, followed by a tender pink lamb sirloin with thyme jus. For dessert, there’s a choice of carrot cake or white chocolate mousse, rounded off with petit fours with coffee. The Easter menu with fish begins with bacon-wrapped goat cheese on olive tapenade, followed by a fine char involtini, before continuing with dessert and petit fours. The vegan alternative impresses with a vegetable cream cheese terrine and a main course of green spelt zucchini on roasted white asparagus – all elegantly arranged and equally delicious as the other variants. The little ones are also catered for: the children’s menu offers proven favorites like crispy chicken with fresh side dishes, portioned appropriately for children and lovingly prepared. Particularly nice: great emphasis is placed on seasonal and regional ingredients. The menu starts at 55 Euros per person. Alternatively, you can dine à la carte, including the new asparagus menu, which is valid from Easter. A reservation for the menu is still possible until Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Our conclusion: The Easter program at the French Cathedral in Berlin is an all-around successful blend of activity, culture, and culinary delights, perfect for Berlin families who want to stay in the city and still do something special. Those who wish to participate should definitely book early, as the number of participants is limited.
