Orangerie Neukölln

In Körnerpark in Neukölln, the Orangerie Neukölln is situated several meters below street level, behind high arcade walls and a cascade with a fountain. In front of the listed building, a piazza-like terrace with white parasols and citrus trees extends. Additionally, there's brunch, an extensive Spritz menu, and live music every two weeks.
Orangerie Neukölln: Terrace in Körnerpark
The Orangerie Neukölln is located on Schierker Straße in Körnerpark, five to seven meters below street level. The park was laid out between 1912 and 1916 in Neo-Baroque style on a former gravel pit, strictly axial, bordered by high arcade walls and accessed via monumental staircases. To the east, water from a cascade flows over six steps into a basin from which a fountain rises. The Orangerie building was designed by architect Reinhold Kiehl, modeled after Versailles, and is now a listed monument. In front of it, the terrace extends, a piazza-like area with large white parasols and citrus trees in pots.
Inside, the hall features high arched windows and a ceiling height of 6.80 meters, a rarity in Berlin cafés. The culinary offerings range from brunch to late evening, from focaccia and piadina to salads and warm dishes. Gnocchi cost 15.00 Euros, an Orangerie Spritz 9.00 Euros. Tables for two to seven people can be reserved online; spontaneous guests usually find a spot without a reservation.
Concerts, Gallery, and Summer Evenings in Neukölln
The Orangerie Neukölln has its own event program. Every two weeks, the Parkside Sessions feature live music, complemented by wine evenings like Naked Grapes and other formats with free admission. For larger groups of eight or more, there are fixed brunch and dinner packages at a flat rate, and for private events, two additional rooms are available besides the hall and terrace.
The park provides the accompanying program. Since 1983, the Galerie im Körnerpark has been located in the same building complex, showcasing national and international art with free admission, and also hosting talks, performances, and readings. In June, the district of Neukölln also features the free concert series “Dein Sommer im Park” (Your Summer in the Park), with its stage directly below the arcades. For anyone seeking a summer evening that begins with a Spritz on the terrace and ends with live music under old trees, Neukölln offers hardly a better setting.
