A city tour could hardly be more comfortable: At Berlin Horizontal, you are driven through the city of Berlin past the city’s most beautiful sights and highlights while sitting in bed on the “BedBike”. The bed rickshaw is an entertaining alternative to the other Berlin tours on offer and is equally exciting for Berliners and tourists alike.
The routes usually start and end on the square in front of the main entrance to the TV tower on Alexanderplatz and lead past the Humboldtforum/Ex. Berlin Palace, Berlin Cathedral and through Museum Island. The BedBike offers space for two people; for larger groups, additional conventional Rischkas or other escort vehicles can be arranged.
The idea for the BedBike originally came from an advertising agency and was only used briefly as a promotional campaign for a hotel chain. Berlin Horizontal owner Richard Eckes discovered the special cargo bike for himself and decided to use it for sightseeing and special photos. If you book a tour with the moving bed, you should be sure that you will not only be taking photos yourself, but that you will also be an absolute eye-catcher on the streets of Berlin with this vehicle and be photographed like a celebrity by passers-by.
The tours not only offer a unique way to explore the city, but also the freedom to accompany your sightseeing experience with music from your own cell phone via a Bluetooth speaker. For comfort in all weather conditions, umbrellas are provided on hot days and seat heaters to keep you warm in cooler temperatures. The experience also includes photo shoots at the desired locations using your own smartphone or camera. Semi-professional or professional photo and video shoots as well as live streaming must be agreed in advance with owner and tour guide Richard Eckes.
The BedBike is ideal in dry weather and temperatures between 0 and 30 degrees Celsius and is available for tours from midday until late at night, from around 14:00 to 22:00. Alternative meeting points such as the Brandenburg Gate and customized routes can be arranged by personal arrangement.
