The restaurant Cavallino Rosso, whose name means “pink pony”, welcomes its guests in a modern and simple atmosphere. The guest room is decorated with dark wood floors, pale yellow walls and dark wood furniture. In the center are the large bar and the open kitchen, where the food is prepared in front of the guests.

The small but fine menu features a selection of Italian dishes from the Piedmont and South Tyrol region. The daily offer is displayed on a slate and varies according to seasons. The kitchen prepares a modern, innovative Italian cuisine away from the Italian mainstream. The Italian classic pizza is not found here. For starters you try Pescaccio of the giant octopus with spicy mustard-paprika sauce and green pepper or creamy herbal coconut pannacotta on marinated lentils, with short-fried wild shrimp at Cavallino Rosso. The main courses consist of beef rump stuffed with Parma ham, Parmesan cheese and mint with potato parsnip gratin or Ossobuco from the pasture lamb with olives and roasted potato gnocchi. Many guests come for the ravioli with black truffle. For dessert guests can enjoy a lime-cellomousse with lukewarm raspberries or a mousse au chocolat. The dishes are accompanied by a fine selection of Italian wines.

Top10 Berlin Tip: The Cavallino Rosso is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Friedrichstraße, Oranienburger Straße and Torstraße and is well-known for its high-class lunch in Berlin Mitte.
