SPINDLER Restaurant und Coffeehouse

Located on the Landwehrkanal in Kreuzberg, directly on Paul-Lincke-Ufer, the SPINDLER Restaurant and Coffeehouse combines French brasserie cuisine with the casual charm of a over 100-year-old Wilhelminian era building. Here, canal views meet seasonal-regional cuisine with a French accent.
SPINDLER Restaurant and Coffeehouse: Kreuzberg Scene Meets French Cuisine
Behind SPINDLER is Frank Spindler, a well-known face in Berlin’s gastronomy scene, who made a name for himself as co-founder of “Spindler & Klatt” and “Sage” and opened his own restaurant on Paul-Lincke-Ufer in Kreuzberg at the end of 2014. The over one hundred-year-old rooms of the Gründerzeit building were carefully renovated by designer Karolina Preis and Frank Spindler himself and furnished with handcrafted furniture and selected antiques. Exposed, whitewashed brick walls, solid walnut tables, dimmed light, and dark leather upholstery create an atmosphere rarely found so comfortably in Kreuzberg.
The cuisine is modern-European with a French accent: market-fresh ingredients, sourced as regionally as possible, dry-aged steaks, wild-caught fish, and creative vegetarian dishes are on the menu. The menu is seasonal and changes at irregular intervals, making every visit worthwhile anew.
Canal Terrace, Weekend Brunch, and Cocktail Bar
The SPINDLER garden invites you to linger all year round: sheltered under the sun awning during light rain, warm under heaters in winter, or in sunny, wind-protected spots with a view of the canal. On weekdays, there is also a relaxed lunch format in a coffeehouse style, and an excellent brunch on weekends. Furthermore, a well-stocked cocktail bar awaits with a fine selection of French and German wines.
The trendy restaurant is accessible via the Kottbusser Tor subway station (U8 and U1) in just a five-minute walk. On Paul-Lincke-Ufer, Kreuzberg’s casualness and genuine culinary ambition meet.
