The programs in the magnificent Tapestry Hall range from Baroque and Classical to Romantic and Modern. The building itself was constructed from 1898 to 1904 according to plans by Ernst von Ihne in Neo-Baroque style, making it arguably the most dignified concert hall Berlin has to offer. The hall is beautiful and boasts excellent acoustics, which makes the music of the Staatskapelle ensembles even more impressive. Classical concerts on Sunday in Berlin often feel like a mandatory program elsewhere. Not here.
