Kombüse Berlin is the harbor bistro of the watersports center in Friedrichshagen, featuring a terrace directly on the Müggelspree, homemade cakes, and seasonal bistro cuisine. Here you'll find generous portions of white gold (asparagus) along with a magnificent view of the water.

Asparagus Dining in Berlin: Spring on the Müggelspree

If you want to not only eat well but also truly arrive when having asparagus in Berlin, drive to Friedrichshagen. Kombüse Berlin is located in the watersports center on Müggelseedamm. From the terrace, you look directly onto the Müggelspree. The bistro belongs to Hotel Spree-Idyll, which has been family-run since 1991 and has since developed from a small guesthouse into a 3-star hotel. Those planning a trip to the nearby Müggelturm after dinner will be rewarded with a sweeping view over Lake Müggelsee and the forests of Köpenick.

Kombüse focuses on uncomplicated self-service with a genuine bistro atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally, and it shows: in spring, asparagus is on the menu. During asparagus season, there’s classic white asparagus with parsley potatoes and hollandaise sauce, optionally with boiled ham or schnitzel, which stood out for us compared to other places because the portions were truly substantial. We recommend the local Friedrichshagen beer, the so-called “Dolle Molle,” which is exclusively available here. Depending on the variation, the asparagus dish costs between approximately 16 and 22 Euros.

Why Kombüse Belongs on Our Asparagus List

Because eating asparagus in Berlin doesn’t always have to mean sitting in a crowded city restaurant. Kombüse offers exactly what many Berliners are looking for during asparagus season: fresh, regional cuisine, water views, and tranquility. Additionally, the bistro is open daily and accessible even without a hotel stay. This makes it one of the more relaxed places for an asparagus meal in the eastern part of the city, and one you won’t soon forget once you’ve sat on its terrace.
