Bouldering with a Spree panorama instead of a Sunday on the couch: The Ostbloc Boulder Hall in Rummelsburg combines athletic challenge across over 1,000 m² with a genuine feel-good atmosphere directly on Rummelsburger Bucht. Those who venture out alone will find an open community and weekly changing routes that are guaranteed to never bore anyone.

Bouldering in Berlin with a Water View: The Ostbloc in Rummelsburg

The Ostbloc is a spacious bouldering gym directly on the Spree riverbank in Rummelsburg, making it one of the most beautiful addresses for anyone looking to be active as a single on the weekend. In the bright, over 1,000 square meter hall, you train on joint-friendly mats and enjoy expansive views over the harbor through large panoramic windows. The windows open onto the harbor, not a concrete wall.

Climbing enthusiasts can push their limits here across seven different difficulty levels, from the first attempt to challenging routes. This makes getting started easy for everyone. For your first visit, an introductory lesson with a coach is worthwhile, covering everything from warm-up to the first routes. This way, even a solo outing quickly turns into a sociable afternoon.

Ostbloc Boulder Hall: Community, Competitions, and the Perfect Finish by the Water

Two of the eleven sectors in the hall are re-set weekly, regularly creating new climbing problems. Additionally, Ostbloc regularly hosts events: Under the motto „Berlin Bouldert” a monthly competition takes place where 90 bouldering problems are to be solved over 16 days. These are great opportunities to meet other climbers without it feeling awkward. The relaxed atmosphere, location, and friendly team ensure that you always enjoy coming back. To conclude, the session can be continued in a relaxed manner: The bistro with a large, light-filled indoor terrace and a view of the Spree perfectly completes your visit. Ostbloc is easily accessible via the Gustav-Holzmann-Straße tram stop or after a short walk from S-Bahn station Ostkreuz or Rummelsburg.
